HUNTINGTON
BEACH, CA. (July 28, 2003). Women’s Sports Services, LLC,
a career development and recruitment solutions company that operates
the online career center WomenSportJobs.com, has announced a partnership
with the Black Women In Sport Foundation. The partnership will focus
on diversity hiring needs in the sports industry. Both organizations
plan to work closely on supporting and promoting women of color
in sports related career fields.
The Black Women In Sport
Foundation was founded in 1992 as a non-profit organization dedicated
to women of color in the sports industry. “This collaboration
with Women’s Sports Services is truly a blessing. Jointly,
we can provide thousands of women of color access to sports jobs
and career training. If employed, women of color will add a dynamic
and unique reality to the sports industry”, said Tina Sloane
Green, president and co-founder of the Black Women In Sport Foundation.
The timely alliance will
provide WSS’s employer partners direct access to a diverse
and talented pool of candidates. “By working with the Black
Women In Sport Foundation, we will ensure that our corporate partners
have continuous and growing access to the many qualified women and
minorities available for hire,” said Mary Lou Youngblood,
Chief Operating Officer, Women’s Sports Services.
Through the partnership,
members of the Black Women In Sports Foundation will have access
to a comprehensive online career center including job listings,
resume support, career development seminars and networking events.
"The BWSF is excited about the increased employment opportunities
that this partnership will provide our membership. There are so
many capable and talented women of color that are looking for opportunities
to advance in their chosen sports careers and having access to Women's
Sports Services and WomenSportsJobs.com will benefit both our members
and potential employers", said Nikki Franke, BWSF Secretary.
“We are proud to
support the Black Women In Sport Foundation and we look forward
to working together to ensure diversity hiring in sports,”
said Becky Heidesch, CEO, Women’s Sports Services, LLC. Women’s
ports Services, founded in 1995, has done a variety of work in the
women’s sports market in the areas of event marketing and
career development. In 2002, the company decided to concentrate
its efforts solely on career development and recruiting.
