The partnership is a joint effort to support women in sports related career fields and to encourage women to consider sports media as a career path.

The Association for Women in Sports Media (AWSM) was founded in 1987 as an organization of women who work in the sports media, and women and men who support them in their work. The organization was established in 1987. "We are excited about this alliance and see the immediate benefits to our members.
